چکیده

Abstract Background The proportion of frail older adults is increasing and expected to further increase in the coming years, both globally Dutch population. This poses a great challenge public health. To determine prevalence frailty population, index (FI) recommended. A FI an accumulation model encompassing health deficits multiple domains. Previous research has shown that can be created out existing surveys, since it flexible instrument, fairly insensitive use specific items. However, this based on scale development using Classical Test Theory, while few studies have investigated psychometric properties their Item Response Theory (IRT). aim study was create Health Monitor 2016, investigate its Methods Forty-two were selected three domains, i.e., physical, psychological, social. Psychometric by IRT for polytomous response categories: Graded Model (GRM). Items evaluated Cronbach's Alpha, Factor Analysis, Point Polyserial Correlations, GRM. Results analyses showed all items demonstrated positive association with scale. five did not fit well From physical domain these body mass about adherence activity guidelines: moderate per week; bone muscle strengthening activities; balance exercises. psychological item sense control over one's own future. Conclusions By IRT, we 37 adequate fitted well, our redundant, indicating does matter which are FI. strong method selection thus creating more concise Frailty Index. Key messages Creating solid Index promising epidemiological For Index, needs careful consideration.

Psychometric Properties of the Brief Form of Professor-Students Rapport Scale-based on Classical Test Theory and Item-Response Theory

Introduction: In order to improve the quality of the teaching process, it is necessary to review the professor-student rapport. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the factor structure and item-response parameters of Professor-Students Rapport Scale-Brief (PSRS-B). Methods: In a descriptive-correlation study, 497 students from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences were ...

Evaluation of psychometric properties and differential item functioning of 8-item Child Perceptions Questionnaires using item response theory

BACKGROUND Four-factor structure of the two 8-item short forms of Child Perceptions Questionnaire CPQ11-14 (RSF:8 and ISF:8) has been confirmed. However, the sum scores are typically reported in practice as a proxy of Oral health-related Quality of Life (OHRQoL), which implied a unidimensional structure. This study first assessed the unidimensionality of 8-item short forms of CPQ11-14. Item res...

Developing and Measuring IS Scales Using Item Response Theory

Information Systems (IS) research frequently uses survey data to measure the interplay between technological systems and human beings. Researchers have developed sophisticated procedures to build and validate multi-item scales that measure latent constructs. Most studies use classical test theory (CTT), which suffers from several theoretical shortcomings. We discuss these problems and present i...

Investigating Difficult Topics in a Data Structures Course Using Item Response Theory and Logged Data Analysis

We present an analysis of log data from a semester’s use of the OpenDSA eTextbook system with the goal of determining the most difficult course topics in a data structures course. While experienced instructors can identify which topics students most struggle with, this often comes only after much time and effort, and does not provide real-time analysis that might benefit an intelligent tutoring...
